Welcome Journey

A welcome journey campaign is a dedicated campaign only available for newly registered players. In Unibo, you can create a dynamic campaign which is available for every new player, and available for X days after they sign up.

For example, you can create a campaign that is available for every player for the first 2 days (48 hours) after signup.

Why create a Welcome Journey campaign?

Having a dedicated welcome campaign can be good for various reasons, for example:

  • It allows you to set a low threshold for players to win a prize, and also be a little bit more generous than in your daily campaigns since the players can only take part once.
  • The above allows you to give your players a great first experience, both of your brand but also of Unibo as a product; increasing the chances that your players will engage in your future campaigns.
  • It can also increase the deposit count of your new players and reduce churn, since we know that players who win a prize will stay longer and play more than those who don't win a prize. Also, you might create a fear of losing out situation as they can see the next possible prize in front of them.

What campaign types are suitable to use?

Individual campaigns work best, i.e. Mission or Chase. With these, you can create one campaign that runs for as long as you want and players can enter and exit the campaign without any problem.

Tournaments and Prize Drops for example are based on a total shared prize pool, which doesn't really work as the players are entering at different stages and you therefore want a long-lasting campaign with individual prizes and progress.

How to set up a Welcome Journey campaign?

First of all, you should set the campaign end time based on the entire time you want the campaign to run, for example several months or even years.

Secondly, create the missions or chase as you wish.

In step 3, you create a "customized selection" of players, based on their registration date. For example, if you start the campaign on August 1st you select the campaign to be valid for all players signed up after that time.

This is also where you decide for how many days after registration it should be valid for each new player.

Additional tip

If you have other campaigns running at the same time, you can make sure that your welcome journey gets priority within the new players overlay. You do this by ticking the box on step 4 in campaign creation: Display in first position yes
